Aspiring Women take to the UP’s great outdoors Nature skills, recreation, health and safety all come together in the great outdoors, and this time, it’s no boys allowed. That’s right—AspiringWomen in theOutdoors is awomen-only event. The afternoon summer event is hosted by Aspirus Iron River Hospital &Clinics in August at the Bewabic State Park in Crystal Falls, Michigan. Women of all ages come together to sharpen their outdoor recreation skills and hear important health information straight fromthe experts. What better way to enjoy the beauty of Michigan’s Upper Peninsula than by heading outside for somemuch-needed “me” time? Women’s Golf Classic inWausau When: Monday, Aug. 6 Where: Wausau Country Club Dress up or dress down for this fun summer event. Play golf and enjoy a best ball scramble with amorning or afternoon flight full of fun, prizes, raffles, food and even a caddy whose tips are donated to the cause. Proceeds from this year’s Golf Classic will fund resources to help kids build healthy brains, to benefit victims of sexual assault and abuse, and to support community health needs. When: Friday, June 29 Where: Bass Lake Golf Course, Deerbrook, Wisconsin Spirits at the Lake is a fundraising event with all proceeds benefiting the Community Health Foundation of Aspirus Langlade Hospital. This annual event features a 1970s-themed buffet from5 to 8 p.m., livemusic by Hip Pocket and SlimMan, and raffles. Evening tickets are $35 in advance. In 2017more than $517,000 was granted throughout the community from the Community Health Foundation including projects for 17 Antigo-area schools.
