Recent construction and renovation projects in the Stevens Point and Wisconsin Rapids areas are prime examples of this commitment. About 800 Aspirus employees serve Wisconsin Rapids and surrounding communities through Aspirus Riverview Hospital; Aspirus Doctors Clinic & Walk-In Care; and clinics in Wisconsin Rapids, Nekoosa and Rome. In addition, patients have access to excellent heart, vascular, cancer, wound and joint care. Aspirus is investing millions of dollars to expand service in the following areas: AspirusRiverview Hospital Emergency Department Construction on a 17,000-square-foot expansion is underway, with expected completion in February 2019. The project will include: w w 2 trauma rooms. w w 2 cardiac rooms. w w 12 exam rooms. w w Dedicated CT and x-ray imaging suite. AspirusMedEvac Patient Transport AmbulanceGarage This summer, Aspirus completed construction of a two-stall ambulance garage in Wisconsin Rapids for Aspirus MedEvac ambulances for patient transfers. AspirusRiverview FamilyBirthplace Construction on a 21,000-square-foot expansion is underway, with expected completion in January 2019. The project will include: w w 1 C-section surgery suite. w w 8 expansive labor, delivery and recovery suites, each with a queen-size pullout sofa, whirlpool tub and stocked mini-fridge. AspirusRiverview Clinic–Adams Construction is underway on a 7,500-square-foot clinic located at 419 North Oak St. in Adams. Completion is expected in January 2019. The clinic will offer: w w 8 exam rooms and 2 procedure rooms. w w Laboratory and imaging services. w w Primary care and select specialty care. AspirusBehavioral HealthClinic This August, Aspirus opened a clinic located on the fourth floor of Aspirus Riverview Hospital’s East Medical Building to help meet the growing need for mental health and substance abuse services. It offers compassionate care provided by psychiatrists, psychiatric nurse practitioners and clinical social workers. AspirusStevens PointCampus Open since 2006, the Aspirus Stevens Point Campus has seen dramatic growth in patient volume. In response to demonstrated need, Aspirus increased access and services through a 40,000-square-foot expansion project at 5409 Vern Holmes Drive in Stevens Point. In June 2018, the final stage of the project was completed when the new emergency department began serving patients. Wisconsin Governor Scott Walker attended a ribbon-cutting ceremony for the state’s second freestanding emergency department. Freestanding means that it is located off-site from a hospital and designed to offer faster service for urgent situations that often don’t require a hospital stay. The expansion project added 50 jobs to the Aspirus Stevens Point Campus and improved care by adding and expanding services. New and expanded services include: w w 24-hour emergency center. w w Ground transport service with ambulance garage and helipad. w w Walk-in care. w w Primary care. w w Specialty care. w w Lab. w w Imaging.
